Cancelling a Domain Name Transfer


Depending on the Transfer status, following are the methods to cancel the Transfer Order (except for a .EU domain name):

If the Order status is: Transfer waiting for Admin Contact ApprovalTop

You can cancel the Transfer by visiting the Cancel Transfer Link listed in the email that you receive from ThinkTekk Web Solutions.
Note
If you have not got the email for authorization, you can have it resent to the Admin Email Address, by following the procedure given below:
  1. Login to your Control Panel1
  2. Search for the domain name for which you placed the Transfer request and proceed to the Order Details view. 2
  3. In the Order Details view, click the Resend Transfer Authorization Email link. This would re-send the email to the Admin contact.
    Note
    If you still do not receive the email for authorization, you would have to contact our Support Team at http://thinkkhost.com/support/contact-us.php.

If the Order status is: Transfer waiting for Losing Registrar ApprovalTop

Note
In this status, you have already approved the email from the ThinkTekk Web Solutions. However, you have not received/responded to the email from the Current Registrar.
Following are the steps to cancel the Transfer:
  1. Login to your Control Panel3
  2. Search for the domain name for which you placed the Transfer request and proceed to the Order Details view. 4
  3. In the Order Details view, click the Current Actions button under the Actions drop-down menu.
  4. In this list, click the action whose Status displays Transfer waiting for Losing Registrar Approval and then click Cancel.
Note
  • On cancelling the Transfer from the Control Panel, the funds for the same would be available back in your Debit Account. In case you do not receive the funds, contact our Support Team at http://thinkkhost.com/support/contact-us.php.
  • The Transfer of a .EU domain name can only be cancelled through the option provided in the email sent to the Registrant by the Registry.

Transferring Domain Names in Bulk

Transferring Domain Names in Bulk


Using the Bulk Transfer interface in your Control Panel, you may place a transfer request for multiple domain names simultaneously.
Requirements and Exceptions 
Note
  • Before proceeding with the Transfer you are advised to first check the following:
    • Confirm if your domain name can be Transferred. 1
    • Check if you require to obtain a Domain (Transfer) Secret or Authorization Code for your domain name prior to placing a Transfer request. 2
  • Bulk Transfer feature is not supported for domain names under the following TLDs (extensions):
    • .ASIA
    • .AU
    • .CA
    • .CN
    • .CO
    • .DE
    • .ES
    • .EU
    • .ME
    • .NL
    • .NZ
    • .RU
    • .TEL
    • .UK
  • Upon Transferring-In your .XXX domain name, the system will submit the Registrant's full name and email address as recorded in the Contact database to the .XXX Registry, so that the Registry may contact the Registrant to self-certify as a Member of the adult-community. 3

Instructions for CustomersTop

  1. Login to your Customer Control Panel4
  2. In the Menu, point to Manage Orders -> Bulk Tools and then click Bulk Transfer.
  3. Enter values in their respective fields as explained below and proceed:
    • Domain Information: Enter each domain name on a separate line. Mention their respective Transfer Secret/Authorization Code on the same line as the domain name, separated with a comma.
      ThinkTekk Web Solutions sends independent Transfer Request E-mails to the Administrative Contacts of all the domain names (except for .CA domain names), to confirm each of the Transfers. Alternatively, if all the domain names are owned by the same Registrant, you may choose to send the Transfer FAX in a single letter, authorizing the Transfer for all the names.
    • Contact Information: Select the appropriate RegistrantAdministrativeTechnical and Billing Contacts from the drop-down lists.
      Contacts Archival 
      Note
      Unused Contacts (except Default Contacts) that were created more than six months ago are archived. Archived Contacts will not appear in the List of Contacts, would not be searchable and will not be available for selection during bulk domain name transfer.
      Additional Information
    • Product Agreement(s): It is compulsory for you to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s) by selecting the check-box.
  4. If you have sufficient funds in your Debit Account Balance, you will receive a confirmation for the same via an e-mail from ThinkTekk Web Solutions that the Transfer has begun and the requisite Amount to process the Order will be Locked until the action is completed.
    Note
    You can check funds locked for various actions from My Billing -> Locked Funds.
    If you do not have sufficient funds with ThinkTekk Web Solutions, you can pay for the Invoice(s) separately. Upon payment, your Funds will be Locked until the Transfer completes.
    Additional Information

Instructions for ResellersTop

  1. Login to your Reseller Control Panel5
  2. In the Menu, go to Products -> Bulk Tools and then click Bulk Transfer.
  3. Enter the Email Address of the Customer under whom you wish to Transfer the domain names.
  4. Enter values in their respective fields as explained below and proceed:
    • Domain Information: Enter each domain name on a separate line. Mention their respective Transfer Secret/Authorization Code on the same line as the domain name, separated with a comma.
      ThinkTekk Web Solutions sends independent Transfer Request E-mails to the Administrative Contacts of all the domain names (except for .CA domain names), to confirm each of the Transfers. Alternatively, if all the domain names are owned by the same Registrant, you may choose to send the Transfer FAX in a single letter, authorizing the Transfer for all the names.
    • Contact Information: Select the appropriate RegistrantAdministrativeTechnical and Billing Contacts from the drop-down lists.
      Contacts Archival 
    • Product Agreement(s): It is compulsory for you to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s) by selecting the check-box.
  5. Decide how you wish to Pay for the Transfer of the Orders by selecting one of the Payment Options mentioned below and then click the Continuebutton to execute the same:
    • Option 1: Transfer the Orders and the Invoices will be kept Pending for the Customer. This way, the Customer can pay for the Invoices later.
    • Option 2: Transfer the domain names using the Current Debit Account Balance of the Customer. This option would immediately debit your Customer's Debit Account for the Cost of the Transfer. If there are insufficient funds in the Customer's Debit Account balance, then the system would transfer as many Orders as possible.
    • Option 3: Transfer the Orders without raising any Invoices for the Customer.
  6. Upon placing a Bulk Transfer request, the system will display you a confirmation message and both yours and your Customer's Funds will be Locked.
    Additional Information
    ThinkTekk Web Solutions will also send you an E-mail once these domain names Transfer has begun.
Bulk Actions Limit and Domain (Transfer) Secret Change 
Note
  • At any point of time, you can add upto 2 Bulk Actions. This implies that you would not be able to add another Bulk Registration / Transfer / Renewal / Suspend or Unsuspend / Lock or Unlock / Name Servers Modification / Contacts Modification (only for Customers) / Theft Protection / Privacy Protection Action, if 2 Bulk Actions are already running. You will encounter the below error message in case you try to do so:
    Attention
    You already have the maximum allowed number of Bulk Operations running. Please wait for at least one to complete before starting another.
  • You will be able to add another Bulk Action once one of the earlier actions has been processed completely.
  • Once a domain name having an associated Domain (Transfer) Secret is Transferred under ThinkTekk Web Solutions from another Registrar, the system would set a new Domain (Transfer) Secret for such a domain name. This process is implemented from a security perspective.

Transferring a .UK Domain Name

Transferring a .UK Domain Name


Before proceeding with the Transfer of your .UK domain name, you are advised to confirm if your domain name can be transferred. 1
The process of transferring a .UK domain name from another Registrar is different as compared to the process for domain names under other extensions. In case of a .UK domain name, the inbound Transfer needs to be initiated at the Current Registrar's end.
Note
  • Inter-Registrar Transfer of a .UK domain name does not include one year Renewal.
  • Transfer of a .UK domain name from another Registrar to ThinkTekk Web Solutions is a non-billable action.
Once you have determined whether your .UK domain name can be Transferred, you need to follow the steps below:
  1. Initiate the Transfer at the Current Registrar with whom you are managing your .UK domain name. You need to provide the IPS Tag of the Gaining (New) Registrar in order to initiate the Transfer. The IPS Tag for ThinkTekk Web Solutions is PDR-IN.
  2. Login to your Control Panel:
    For Resellers2
    For Customers3
  3. In the Menu, point to:
    For ResellersProducts -> Domain Registration and then click Transfer.
    For CustomersManage Orders and then click Transfer Domain.
  4. Now, enter the domain name you wish to Transfer.
  5. Enter the Username (Email Address) of the Customer, on whose behalf you wish to Transfer this domain name. If the Customer is new, you can Add the Customer, by filling the form provided.
  6. Select the Registrant Contact for this domain name. You may select from the available list of Contacts or Add a New Contact.
    Note
    • Unused Contacts (except Default Contacts) that were created more than six months ago are archived. Archived Contacts will not appear in the List of Contacts, would not be searchable and will not be available for selection during domain name transfer.
      Additional Information
    • The Identity of the Registrant Contact of a .UK domain name must not be changed during the Transfer process. You may modify the Identity once the domain name has been transferred to ThinkTekk Web Solutions, by referring to the process listed at http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrants/maintain/transfer/chargeable/.
  7. Next, select the check box to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s).
  8. Click the Confirm Order button. The domain name will then be activated within your Control Panel.
Note
You may initiate the outbound Transfer at the Current Registrar (step 1) after you have initiated the inbound transfer with ThinkTekk Web Solutions (step 2 onwards). In that case, the Transfer action under our system will be stuck in processing initially. It will be activated under our system once the domain name is released by the Current Registrar.

Instructions for CustomersTop

  1. Login to your Customer Control Panel2
  2. In the Menu, point to Manage Orders and then click Transfer Domain.
  3. Now, enter the domain name you wish to Transfer.
  4. Select a .RU Contact (Registrant Contact) for this domain name. You may select from the available list of Contacts or click Add New to add a new Registrant Contact.
    Contacts Archival 
    Note
    Unused Contacts (except Default Contacts) that were created more than six months ago are archived. Archived Contacts will not appear in the List of Contacts, would not be searchable and will not be available for selection during domain name transfer.
    Additional Information
    You need to provide the following additional details about the Registrant Contact:
    • For Organization: If you select the Contact Type as Organization, then you need to provide the following details as well:
      • Legal Address: This needs to include a minimum of 2 words. This indicates the place of incorporation, including Country of incorporation of the Organization.
        Example:
        New York, U.S.A.
      • Taxpayer Identification Number (code): This is a 10 digit number and is mandatory for Organizations incorporated in Russia.
      • Territory-linked Taxpayer Number (kpp): This is the Territory-linked Taxpayer number. This is a 9 digit number and is mandatory for Organizations incorporated in Russia.
      • Full Company Name: This is the legally registered company name, as mentioned in the Company Formation documents.
    • For Individual: If you select the Contact Type as Individual, then you need to provide the following details as well:
      • Registrant's Name (preferably in Russian)
      • Passport Information: This needs to include the Document number, Issued by, Issued Date of the Passport.
      • Birth Date: This needs to be entered as a numeric value in DD.MM.YYYY format.
  5. Do not select the Privacy Protection checkbox as it is not supported for .RU domain names.
    Additional Information
  6. Next, select the check box to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s).
    Note
    This is a mandatory action.
  7. Proceed with completing the Transfer process.
    Note
    Transferring a .RU domain name is free of cost and does not include a 1 year Renewal.
  8. After you have placed the Transfer Order, you will receive an e-mail from ThinkTekk Web Solutions with instructions to complete the Transfer by submitting certain documents to Registrar RU-Center.
    Note
    If the Transfer is not completed within 15 days, it is assumed that the Registrant Contact does not wish for the Transfer to complete and the Order is deleted in our system.
Submitting Documentation 
Note
Upon placing a Transfer request for your .RU domain name, you may need to submit some documentation (Anchor: docs) to Registrar RU-Center:
Determine whether you are transferring your domain name from either Registrar RU-Center or one of their Partners or another Registrar:
Perform a Whois Lookup for the domain name at https://www.nic.ru/whois/ and check the name displayed besides registrar.
  • Registrar RU-CENTER-REG-RIPN or RU-Center: This implies that you are transferring your domain name from either Registrar RU-Center or one of their Partners.
    • To complete your transfer, you have 2 options:
      1. Instructions for Transferring through your existing Control Panel at RU-Center: If you have your existing NIC-D Handle and Contact Password, simply follow the below mentioned process:
        • Click the Log in link on the top right corner of the screen.
        • Mention your NIC-D Handle and Contact Password in their respective fields and click the Log in -> button.
          If you have forgotten your NIC-D Handle or Contact Password, click the Forgot password or contract number? button, to retrieve the same.
          If you are unsure about your NIC-D Handle, contact the Registration Service Provider through whom you have registered your .RU domain name.
        • Upon login, go to Orders -> Domain Transfer -> Account to Account.
        • Specify your .RU domain name and click Continue.
        • Enter your New NIC-D Handle and Contact Password. These will be provided in the Transfer-in Instruction Email sent by our system to you.
      2. Instructions for Transferring your domain name without having access to your existing Control Panel at RU-Center: To complete your Transfer in this circumstance, you need to submit the following documentation to Registrar RU-Center while stating our NIC-REG Contact as 10518 and your new NIC-D Handle. Your new NIC-D Handle will be provided in the Transfer-in Instruction Email sent by our system to you.
        • Instructions for Transferring without changing your Contact Details: If while placing your Transfer with ThinkTekk Web Solutions, you have mentioned the same contact details as those present in your domain name, then you need to follow the below mentioned instructions:
          • For Organization: If your present Contact Type is Organization, then you need to completely fill and submit the document availablehere to Registrar RU-Center via FAX to +7 (495) 737-0602.
          • For Individual or Sole Trader: If your present Contact Type is either Individual or Sole Trader, then you need to completely fill and submit the document available here to Registrar RU-Center via FAX to +7 (495) 737-0602.
          Apart from the documents stated above, you need to also send the following documents to Registrar RU-Center via either Postal Mail or have them delivered by hand:
          • For Russian Residents: Russian residents can find detailed instructions about which documents to submit, how to submit, etc.here.
          • For Non-Russians: If you are not a Russian resident, you need to follow the instructions about which documents to submit, how to submit, etc. here.
        • Instructions for Transferring while also changing your Contact Details: If while placing your Transfer with ThinkTekk Web Solutions, you have mentioned different contact details than those present in your domain name, then you need to follow the below mentioned instructions:
          • For Organization: If your present Contact Type is Organization, then you need to completely fill and submit the document availablehere to Registrar RU-Center via FAX to +7 (495) 737-0602.
          • For Individual or Sole Trader: If your present Contact Type is either Individual or Sole Trader, then you need to completely fill and submit the document available here to Registrar RU-Center via FAX to +7 (495) 737-0602.
          Apart from the documents stated above, you need to also send the following documents to Registrar RU-Center:
          • For Russian Residents: Russian residents can find detailed instructions about which documents to submit, how to submit, etc.here.
          • For Non-Russians: If you are not a Russian resident, you need to follow the instructions about which documents to submit, how to submit, etc. here.
          You need to also identify yourself to Registrar RU-Center. Instructions for what documents need to be submitted can be found here.
  • Other Registrars: To Transfer your domain name from any other Registrar:
    • You need to initiate the Transfer at the Current Registrar with whom you are managing your .RU domain name. Inform the Current Registrar to transfer your .RU domain name to Registrar RU-Center (identifier RU-CENTER-REG-RIPN), and
    • submit the following documentation to Registrar RU-Center while stating our NIC-REG Contact as 10518 and your new NIC-D Handle (provided in the Transfer-in Instruction Email sent by our system to you):
      • For Organization: If your present Contact Type is Organization, then you need to completely fill and submit the document available here to RegistrarRU-Center via FAX to +7 (495) 737-0602.
      • For Individual or Sole Trader: If your present Contact Type is either Individual or Sole Trader, then you need to completely fill and submit the document available here to Registrar RU-Center via FAX to +7 (495) 737-0602.
      Apart from the documents stated above, you need to also send the following documents to Registrar RU-Center via either Postal Mail or have them delivered by hand:
